  • Compliance Information on Federal and State Laws: ACA’s Compliance Department has produced extensive aids to guide you through the FDCPA, FCRA, garnishment regulations, bankruptcy, state laws and more. CI members can purchase these resources at the discounted member rate.
  • Access to ACA International Members’ Attorney Program Attorneys: MAP attorneys are dedicated to the credit and collection industry—and they volunteer their time and expertise to keep members of CI and ACA informed of court decisions and the implications they carry. MAP provides a list of state chairs who will answer members’ question at no charge.
  • Comprehensive Library of Compliance Documents: Fastfax provides members with the documents they need, when they need them. Compliance documents features articles on legal compliance, articles on hot topics and current events in the credit industry, and much more, available at no charge to members of CI and ACA International. Topics range from legal and compliance issues to customer service tips and effective business practices.

Education

  • Teleseminars: ACA teleseminars provide updates on industry hot topics to help you stay up to date on changes affecting the industry. Teleseminars offer a convenient, cost-effective way to access the knowledge of experts without travel expense and time away from the office. Take advantage of member pricing at these 90-minute events.
  • Online Training Seminars: Topics range from customer service, risk management and sales to compliance, collection and training techniques. Register for Campus ACA teleseminars and online seminars today by visiting the ACA Event Calendar.
  • In-house Training: Bring customized training to your office by booking an ACA seminar at your organization. ACA provides a Certified Instructor who will train your staff on core topics including collector-level and management training.   • Training Materials: Computer-based training options, distance learning programs, compliance manuals and other training materials help you educate your staff on an ongoing basis.

Legal/Legislative

  • Compliance information on federal and state laws: CI publications include relevant legal decisions and updates on state and federal legislative initiatives.
  • Timely updates on legal and legislative issues: ACA International’s Legal and Government Affairs Department provides timely legislative updates via e-mail to all ACA members. These updates focus on pending bankruptcy reform and the association’s efforts to amend the FDCPA. Each e-mail also highlights resources available to members through ACA Online, which features additional legislative data, informative bill summaries and sample letters of support to send to members of the U.S. Congress.

Networking Opportunities

  • CI Listserve: This innovative form of communication links CI members via e-mail, allowing them to network and exchange information quickly and easily. CI members can ask questions of their peers and receive advice and insight into how other members navigate their way through the credit industry.
  • ACA International’s Online Membership Directory and CI Membership Roster: This listing of all ACA members is constantly updated and available online. It allows members to connect and network quickly and easily. CI members may access up-to-date member information by searching the Membership Directory on ACA Online.
  • Discounts at CI and ACA International Conferences: CI and ACA hold conferences on various topics throughout the year. In addition, ACA holds an annual convention that features information of interest to both CI and ACA members.

Publications

  • Consumer Trends: This monthly newsletter, free to CI members, keeps you informed of statistics and trends within the industry as well as legal and compliance issues. Additional subscriptions can be purchased at a discounted rate.
  • Collector Magazine: ACA’s award-winning monthly magazine is dedicated to credit and collection issues. Of special interest to CI members is the monthly feature Credit World, which covers the hot topics in the credit industry.

  • ACA Online: ACA Online is a business tool that offers its users "members-only" information, resources and online rosters.
  • ACA International Telecommunications Management Program: This program offers benefits such as discounted long-distance rates, customized outbound service and discounts on conference calling and long-distance directory assistance.
